Return of the High Street | The Future of Business

The High Street Returns

With shops beginning to re-open shoppers have reportedly returned with an 85% footfall. This immediately shows that after over a year of on and off lockdowns, people are still interested in high street business.
This transfers quickly over to real-life events. People are still interested in seeing other people in person. The sudden surge of people jumping at the chance to be outside again could be attributed to everyone being locked-down but it shows that shopping, meeting and working outside are still viable options for business.
This can quickly be applied over to events and meetings. Large scale events that allow people to show off products and make in-person connections will always be necessary. They offer something that Virtual Events do not, a human connection.
More time is needed to see how the future of events will look but the strong return of the High Street is a strong sign for the future.

Online Business Looking Forward

Over the past year, online Business has boomed. Online Streaming, Online Events, Online Shopping.
The past year has seen a total change in the patterns of day to day life. With Events, Business Meetings and many other day to day activities being moved online.
Online Streaming will likely continue its dominance going into the future. Online Shopping will see some losses to the high street but the interesting factor is Online Events.
Online Events, often run over ZOOM, Have come to redefine events of all kinds. From Comic-meets, to Networking Events, the online world has proven that large convention centers or halls are not essential.
Whilst lacking the Human connection of Real-Life Events. Online-Events allow for people from across the world to come to an event far easier.
This trade off makes looking to the future, a bit more tricky. Whereas Online Shopping or Online Streaming have found a solid place in the Business World. But Online Events may not have that sway.
Online Events will be here to stay as they have the mass appeal and ease of access that regular Real-Life Events do not have. But those events have more of a human connection and allow for passion to put through in presentations. They also allow for products to be displayed more easily.

Conclusion

All in all, The High Streets stupendous return shows that Business in the physical world will return, splitting itself with the online world. Online Business will in most cases continue to dominate. But in the case of events, the real world is likely to win out, at least for the time being.
